I make all my artworks from aluminum beverage cans. I clean the cans and then cut them up, then attach the cut-up shapes to a plywood backing using stainless-steel staples. Finally I apply a coating of UV-resistant polyurethane to prevent fading in the sunlight. The final piece is a durable artwork that will hold up well over time.
Currently I am sourcing most of my designs from traditional quilt patterns. Many of these patterns are familiar here in southern Appalachia where I live and work. I am experimenting with a range of sizes, patterns, and color combinations.
